Oct 10  Meeting for Lilongwe Chapter in Public Affairs Auditorium.

Nov 27  MUSEAA executive meeting to strategize the 2007/08 project “Campaign  awareness against Drug and Substance Abuse.”

Dec 5  Panel discussion: The link between Drug and Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS in
commemoration of World AIDS Day in Public Affairs Auditorium led by Hubert Humphrey
Alumni Wellington Limbe.

Dec 10  Workshop for teachers: The Problem of Child Trafficking in Malawi in commemoration of Human Rights Day facilitated by IVLP Alumni Fiona Mwale of Law Commission and Habiba Osman of Norwegian Church AID.

Dec 13  Cultural Evening at Cresta Hotel organized by MUSEAA Lilongwe Chapter to welcome new American Officers and spouses.  The event featured Malawian music and food, and provided a relaxing atmosphere for interaction between the American Community and MUSEAA members.

Feb 9  Drug and Alcohol Abuse project team meeting in Public Affairs Auditorium.

Feb 28  Potluck dinner at Deputy Chief of Missions residence hosted in honor of MUSEAA and the American Community.

Mar 12-14  Women’s History Month outreach program for girls in Mzuzu by Alumni Sophie Chimarilo of Mzuzu High Court and Dr. Chrissie Mwiyeriwa of SAFE Schools Projects.

Mar 27  Presentation: “Professional Women and  Health” by Fulbright Alumnus Dr. Angela Chimwaza of  Kamuzu College of Nursing in Public Affairs Section as part of Commemoration of Women’s  History Month.

Mar 25  Blantyre Chapter hosts a dinner for Peace Corp volunteers and holds elections.

Apr 4  MUSEAA joins the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Inter-Ministerial Committee on Drug Control (IMCDG) as co-opted member.

Apr 14-15  TESOL alumnus Ms. Caroline Bwanali of Polytechnic, University of Malawi mentors girls in five secondary schools in the Muslim dominated districts of Mangochi and Machinga.

Apr 16  IVLP Alumnus Zione Ntaba attends IMCDG meeting.

Apr 18  IVLP Alumnus Vuwa Phiri of Chancellor College shares his International Visitor experience at the Malawi Librarians Association conference.

Apr 22  Launching of MUSEAA’s media campaign against drug and alcohol abuse on Capital Radio FM and Zodiac Radio Broadcasting Stations.

Apr 25  Capital FM and Zodiac Broadcasting stations interview MUSEAA National Coordinator Betty Chinyamunyamu and Wellington Limbe of Malawi AIDS Counseling Resource Center on MUSEAA’s current project.

Nations Population Fund, and Zione Ntaba of Ministry of Justice.

May 19-31  Mounting of bill boards and distributing brochures carrying the campaign message in Blantyre, Zomba, Mangochi, Mzimba, Mzuzu and Lilongwe.

May 20  Phone in radio program on Capital Radio FM.

Jun 21  MUSEAA Lilongwe Chapter invites Goodall Gondwe to speak “Creating a Savings Culture”.

Aug 6  MUSEAA Executive bids Ambassador Allan Eastham farewell.

Aug 10  Home Hospitality: Fulbright Alum Vita Onwuasoanya hosts  lunch for the family of Dr. Shima Baradaran a U.S. Fulbright Senior Scholar who is in Malawi to conduct research on the “Criminal Justice System”.

Sept 19  Drug and Alcohol project team meets with MUSEA executive members committee to evaluate the program and sketch an action plan for next campaign on “The Link between Drug and Alcohol Abuse and Gender Based Violence”.

Sept - Oct  Outreach to schools on the “Dangers of Drug and Alcohol Abuse among the Youth” conducted by MUSEAA members.
