Malomo CDSS Hall/Beds Project

Project Description:
The Malomo Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) Hall/Beds Project combines the completion of an assembly hall and the provision of 75 bond beds for student hostels.  The $6,900 Ambassador’s Self Help Fund grant enabled the school development committee to complete the hall that had been abandoned halfway due to insufficient funds.  An adjourning section of this school hall is a cafeteria with a sitting capacity of 320.  In the past, hostels in this boarding school had no beds.  Students slept on Indian bamboo mats laid on the bare floor.  The provision of beds will significantly reduce the incidence of flu and other illnesses among students that are associated with sleeping on hard, cold floors.
