Ambassador Bodde Congratulates the People of Malawi

On behalf of the people of the United States, I would like to congratulate the people of Malawi on the peaceful exercise of their democratic right to choose their leaders.  There is no stronger voice than the voice of the people, and Malawians spoke powerfully on May 19.  I would also like to congratulate the Malawi Electoral Commission and the political parties for the successful and well-organized manner in which voting took place.  The United States looks forward to building on our strong bilateral relationship and working productively with the government of Malawi.
