Price is the Chairman of the House Democracy Assistance Commission, which he initiated to help strengthen parliaments in emerging democracies. He also serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee.
The delegation will also include Rep. Lois Capps of California, Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Rep. Jim Cooper of Tennessee, Rep. Mel Watt of North Carolina, and Rep. Brad Miller of North Carolina. The delegation will meet with senior Malawian officials and visit various health-related project sites in and around Lilongwe.
The objective of the visit is to interact with fellow legislators and government officials. The group also hopes to learn more about the health challenges that confront Malawi and the efforts by the U.S. Government and other U.S. organizations to assist Malawi in meeting those challenges.
