Lilongwe Education Advising Center

The Lilongwe Education Advising Center (EAC) provides quality, timely, accurate, and unbiased information about all accredited U.S. higher education institutions for persons wishing to study in the U.S.  The advising center offers individual advising to help interested Malawian students who have the academic qualifications and financial resources for studying in the United States.

This center belongs to the EducationUSA network of educational advising centers affiliated with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. EducationUSA advisers strive to provide accurate, comprehensive, current, and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. We do not endorse or rank any college or university, nor do we endorse services provided by any company or organization in areas of test preparation, admissions, placement, language training, or visa procurement.

Member Services and Resources:
The education advising center allows both walk-ins and individual advising. We can assist with selection of schools and application procedures. For prospective students who need more help throughout the whole application process, we require that you become a registered member of the advising center.  In order to become a member of the Educational Advising Centre, a student must submit the following:

  • Completed application form for either undergraduate or graduate membership.  
  • Passport size photographs. 
  • Photocopy of academic certificate or university transcript. 
  • Annual membership fee of MWK2, 000.

Advising Hours at the Public Affairs Auditorium

One –on – one advising for members only  Monday – Friday     9:00am – 11.30am.
Free introductory undergraduate session  Monday-   2:30pm – 3:30pm
Free introductory graduate session  Tuesday            2:30pm – 3:30pm

If you live in Mzuzu, please visit the American Corner at the Mzuzu University Library.  In Zomba, you can visit the American Corner that is located at Chancellor College in the library, and in Blantyre, please feel free to browse educational advising books, and find testing information at the American Corner right by the library at the Polytechnic.
