There is no annual limitation on the numbers of immigrants under this category.

A returning resident is defined as someone who has previously had immigrant status, but has been out of the United States for more than one year.

Returning Residents described above must petition to the Secretary of State through a United States Consular office abroad. Please contact the Consular Section for further information and forms regarding the returning resident visa process.
